THE POWER OF SMALL STEPS

 BY: Godfrey Gregg

The journey toward your greatest goal often begins with something very small—one intentional choice, one act of courage, one moment of saying yes when fear whispers no. It’s easy to overlook small progress because it rarely feels dramatic. Yet the truth is, every towering tree once began as a tiny seed buried in darkness, trusting the process unseen. Life works the same way. What you nurture daily in faith will one day break through the surface with purpose.

When progress feels slow, remember that consistency is more powerful than speed. The habit you strengthen today will carry you to the destiny that impulsive bursts of energy cannot sustain. Celebrate each small victory, for they are proof of persistence. Every word written, every step taken, every kind thought resisted against negativity—these all tell the story of someone refusing to give up.

Too often, we compare our early beginnings to someone else’s completed success. But a flower does not rush because another has bloomed. It simply trusts the rhythm of its own growth. The same principle applies to your life. Be patient with your becoming. Each step you take shapes endurance, and endurance builds character strong enough to handle what lies ahead.

There is extraordinary power in daily, faithful effort. Each sunrise gives you another chance to begin with purpose. When obstacles arise, remind yourself that progress, not perfection, is the goal. You do not need to know every detail of the path; you only need enough light for the next step. Trust that when you move forward with intention, the path will continually unfold beneath your feet.

So, take your step—write that line, make that call, forgive that person, begin again. The smallest actions hold the potential to transform your entire life. Remember, faith often looks like walking slowly in the right direction, even when the destination seems far away. Keep moving, and let each small step remind you that you are becoming something greater day by day.
