ENCOURAGEMENT FOR HEALING AND RECOVERY

 (After an Illness or Loss)

My Precious Family,

These past days/weeks/months have tested us in ways we never expected. We’ve been navigating a season of pain, and it has left its mark on each of us. I see the fatigue in your eyes and feel the heaviness in my own heart. In times like these, it’s important to remember that healing is not a race. It’s a gentle, sometimes meandering path that we walk together, at our own pace.

There is no right or wrong way to feel. Some days will be better than others. Some moments, a memory will bring a smile, and in the very next, a wave of grief may wash over you. Please, be gentle with yourselves and with each other. We don’t need to be strong all the time. It is okay to not be okay. Our strength as a family isn't about pretending we're fine; it's about holding space for each other's pain and offering a quiet, steady presence.

So, let’s focus on the basics of healing. Let’s nourish our bodies with good food, give ourselves permission to rest, and take small walks in the sunshine. Most importantly, let’s talk when we need to and sit in comfortable silence when we don’t. We are a living, breathing testament to the love we have shared and continue to share. That love is our greatest medicine. My promise to you is that I am here, walking this path right beside you, ready to hold your hand or carry you when you need it. We will find our way back to light, one small step at a time, together.

Loving you always,

Godfrey Gregg
