CANADA’S PRIME DELIVERED MINISTER A TRUTH BOMB

CANADA’S PRIME MINISTER DELIVERED AMERICA A TRUTH BOMB THAT REPUBLICANS WON’T WANT TO HEAR

It doesn’t take a degree in psychology to know that most hatred is based on fear – generally fear of the unknown.
While Americans Republicans are struggling over choosing which GOP candidates best represent their kind of hate, in Canada, they recently rejected hatred and conservatism at the polls and elected a *gasp* liberal, and that liberal, Justin Trudeau, delivered Americans a dose of truth last week.
When Trudeau was asked whether he would condemn Donald Trump and Trump’s “hateful rhetoric,” he was a little reluctant to speak out on foreign elections, but he did have an opinion on the hatred that’s being ginned up. Channeling our own Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who famously said, “there is nothing to fear but fear itself,” Trudeau said:
“I don’t think it comes as a surprise to anyone that I stand firmly against the politics of division, the politics of fear, the politics of intolerance or hateful rhetoric,” Trudeau said. “If we allow politicians to succeed by scaring people, we don’t actually end up any safer. Fear doesn’t make us safer. It makes us weaker.”
Trudeau also noted that Muslims are “the greatest victims of terrorist acts around the world.”
While Trump is busy talking a boatload of talk, Trudeau is walking the walk. Canada, which has about 1/10th our population, is taking in 25,000 Syrian refugees, while the United States is taking in only 10,000 and Trump supporting Americans are terrified of even the 10,000, who are running from ISIS.
For Trump, even that 10,000 is too much. He wants to ban all Muslim immigration. Hillary Clinton and others have said that Trump is ISIS’ ‘best recruiter,’ and while that was a controversial statement at the time (just a couple weeks ago), this week Al Qaeda did release a recruiting video that featured a Trump sound bite.
