NDP FILES ELECTION PETITIONS

OH REALLY

NDP CONTEST CENTRAL LEEWARD & NORTH WINDWARD CONSTITUENCIES, FILE PETITION.
Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves stated on radio Sunday that the opposition NDP has filed two elections petitions in which the party is challenging the results in the Central Leeward and North Windward constituencies.
Dr Gonsalves said that he had seen a copy of the petition served pertaining to the Central Leeward constituency but stated that the petition for North Windward was not served on the declared winner, Montgomery Daniel.
The NDP reportedly filed the petitions on Thursday, the deadline they were allowed to file, with the party leader Arnhim Eustace, contending that his party won the elections, even though all of its agents in all of the 15 constituencies signed off on the final count, which shows the ULP winning eight seats to the NDP's seven.
