WHAT ARE WE COMING TO

Kelley Williams-Bolar the Ohio mother sentenced to 10 days behind bars for sending her daughters to a better school in a safer district. About eight years ago Williams-Bolar decided to send her children to a prestigious school in the neighboring Copley-Fairlawn district. Kelly and her family actually reside in Akron.
The school district accused Kelley of lying about her address and falsifying documents. School officials accused Ms.Williams-Bolar of cheating because her daughters received a quality education and she wasn't paying the proper taxes for that district.
The school district actually hired a private investigator to follow Ms.Williams-Bolar and her family and they shot video of her driving into the district. The school officials demanded that she pay $30,000 in what they called back tuition. When Ms. Williams-Bolar refused she was indicted and after a subsequent conviction she was sentenced to 10 days in county jail three years probation and she was also ordered to perform community service. "I don't think they wanted money, they wanted to make me an example." Ms.Williams-Bolar said.
