YOUR HERITAGE

Slavery stole a lot from the African Family, it stole our dignity, pride, and self confidence, it altered our reflection of who we were, our affection, trust, and loyalty toward one another, and it crushed our spirit and ability to see the future in a positive light...
Though slaves were not allowed to learn anything other than menial labor they became skilled at or enhanced talents and gifts they already had, slavery didn't breed lazy people, we worked from sun up to sun down six days a week and some on Sunday's...
During slavery we were robbed of every part of us that was considered human, then looked upon as two thirds human, yet being considered part human didn't stop the oppressor from rapping our women, men, or children...
When slavery was abolished new laws were created to keep us in a permanent state of mental and physical languish, the oppressor wanted to keep us permanently under the thumb of oppression, so our people were incarcerated at high rates, tricked or forced into signing on as sharecroppers to the land in which they became permanently indebted to the owners, or given broken down shacks to live in, in exchange for long hrs of work on the plantations of America...
We have suffered long, in-tolerable injustice at the hands of this corrupt system, and we continue to be partakers in a never ending cycle on a downward spiral of low self esteem and broken dreams, but one thing we can never be considered or said to be is, "LAZY!", if anything, our nation is just exhausted from enriching other peoples lives and building foundations for other nations, while we wither away at the foot of oppression...
