A PAUSE FOR PEACE

Sir Godfrey Gregg

Amid the festive hustle—the parties, the shopping, the to-do lists that seem to grow by the minute—it is essential to carve out a moment for quiet. To simply pause. Find a quiet corner, perhaps lit only by the tree, and just be. Listen to the quiet crackle of the fire, or the absolute silence of a snow-filled night.

In this stillness, we can reconnect with the heart of the season. Christmas, at its core, is a story that began in a quiet, humble stable, under a starry sky. It speaks of peace, not of the frantic, surface-level kind, but of a deep, soul-level tranquillity. This peace isn’t dependent on everything being perfect; it’s a gift that exists even in the midst of imperfection.

So, grant yourself permission to step away from the noise. Breathe deeply. Let go of the pressures and expectations. Remember that your worth this season is not measured by how many cookies you bake or how perfectly wrapped your presents are. It is found in the love you carry and the peace you cultivate within. In this quiet moment, may you find the true, restorative peace that Christmas promises.
