It is regretably that I have to ask the question involving the church. The voice of the people is said to be the voice of God. Yet in all the turmoil the church is more than silent.
The church only speak when it is in their interest or when they need favour. The Christian Council became active just before the ballots are cast and after. They go back in hiding for whatever the reason. Most churches are only heard around Christmas time when they publish a message in the newspaper and then the silence.
Where is the voice of the church when the people feel oppressed, hopeless and helpless? Where is the church when citizens are discriminated and abused by the police? Where is the voice of the church when politicians are over riding their priveleges to incite and destablised the country? Where is the voice of the church leaders? Where is the voice of the church? I still ask and will do so until they break their silence.
Where is "Esther" from among the people to stand up knowing that you can become unpopular or threatened with death. Where is the voice of "Esther" when our women are raped and nothing is done to protect the rights of our women? Where is the voice crying out against teen age pregnancy and abuse of our women by hands of wicked men? Where is the voice when our young men are brutally murdered and there is hardly any justice? I ask where is the voice crying in the wilderness asking for mercy and justice.
Something must be done and soon to avoid a further breakdown in our society and the church has the best opportunity to lead the way. This is the best time and you should seize the moment to get the message over and across the nation. There is still hope for all of us to get on board.
GIVE US JUSTICE AND DO IT NOW.
GOD HELP US AND HAVE MERCY
